Welcome to the Utility Billing Department!

If you live in Chewelah, have ever lived in Chewelah or have ever called Chewelah you have spoken to one of our friendly Billing Clerks.   The Billing Department strives to provide great customer service in a prompt and efficient manner.   With over 5 years of experience, Billing Clerk Annie Crowley can answer all your questions with regard to billing matters.  She can also assist with your questions regarding cemetery lots/niches.   Lesli Johnson, Deputy Billing Clerk can assist with your billing/account questions.  Our current rates can be located by CLICKING HERE.

Utility Billing Statements are mailed on the first working day of each month.   Payments are due on the 15th.   If payment is not received by the end of day on the 20th (or the next working day, if the 20th falls on a weekend or holiday) a $5.00 late fee will be added to your bill.

Budget Payment

If you like the convenience of knowing what your monthly utility bill will be, then the Budget Payment is for you.   If you have lived in your home for over one year, the Billing Department will review your account and provide you with the average monthly payment that will be due based on last years usage.   No big surprise payments in the winter or after the water meters are read.    Contact Annie or Lesli for more information. 

Automatic Payment Plan

Don't like to write checks each month?  Tired of trying to get to the post office or city hall in bad weather?  Then the Automatic Payment Plan is perfect for you!   The City Billing Department will automatically withdraw your monthly net bill amount from your account on the 13th of each month.   If you have questions, or would like to receive an application, contact Annie or Lesli . 


Don't forget our convenient drop box located in the parking lot in front of City Hall!!! You don't even have to get out of your car. Payments can be dropped off after hours or on weekends.

City Hall is open 8:00AM until 4:30PM.
