PUBLIC WORKS
Think of what makes the City of Chewelah work, play and travel and you will be thinking of the Public Works Department. The Public Works Department manages the water, sewer and streets of the City. The folks in Public Works also take care of the City Parks, the Swimming Pool and garbage collection. This is the largest department in the City. You may find one employee mowing the lawn around City Hall in the morning and repairing water lines in the afternoon. Denise Smith, the Public Works Director, is the contact person for all questions in regards to your water, sewer, or street. She also oversees the park maintenance as well as the swimming pool. Contact her by phone (509-935-8313) or e-mail and she will gladly help you with any issue you may have.
REMINDER:
The State of Washington does not allow burning of any debris, including leaves and grass within city or UGA limits. Click here for more information.
